Middle School Science

Mrs. Jenkins

I was born and raised in Idaho Falls, ID. While working on my teaching degree at BYU-Idaho, I spent my “summer semester” exploring and experiencing the world. These experiences included attending another college on a soccer scholarship, working as a cook at a hotel in the Grand Canyon, volunteering as an English teacher in Russia, and serving a mission for my church in Ukraine. After graduating, I was hired to be the PE teacher for San Luis Middle School. After a year of teacher there, decided to move closer to family and was hired as the health education teacher at Emerson Alternative High School in Idaho Falls. I returned to teaching in the fall of 2021 after taking a break to raise my children. I am now the Middle School Science Teacher and Physical Education elective teacher here at Falcon Ridge Charter School.

If I am not in the classroom, you can find me coaching. I love coaching and playing soccer, but I have been known to coach basketball and softball. When I find a spare minute, I’ll drag whomever will go with me on a walk with my dogs, or a hike in the mountains. It’s not uncommon for me to plan a trip multiple times a year to explore other parts of our beautiful world. Some of my other hobbies include playing the piano, crafting, yard work, making my chickens comfortable and happy, camping, running my kids to their activities and cheering them on in their various games/performances, and avoiding housework by finding other projects.

I am married to my best friend. We have four children and two dogs, multiple chickens, two guinea pigs and a tank full of fish.

My classroom is rigorous and engaging. I have high expectations of involvement from each student.
