Miss Tatom
I am originally from Meridian, Idaho. After getting a teaching degree from the College of Idaho and a Master’s in Elementary Education, I have spent over a decade in the classroom. A big chunk of that time was spent teaching third grade in Nampa, but now I am loving the new challenge of teaching first grade at Falcon Ridge. This is my third year at Falcon Ridge and I am very excited about teaching students to read, write, and do math! I am thrilled to be part of the Falcon Ridge community and make a positive impact on students’ lives.
I’m passionate about a lot of things outside the classroom! When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me diving into a good book, experimenting with pottery, or snapping photos to capture the beauty around me. I also enjoy creating teaching materials that make learning fun. Family and friends are super important to me—being an auntie is a highlight, and I cherish every moment with my nieces and nephews. Traveling is another love of mine; I’ve had the chance to explore some incredible countries around the world and can’t wait for the next adventure.
I come from a small but wonderfully loud and lively family, where there’s never a dull moment! With two siblings and five adorable nieces and nephews, there’s always something exciting happening. I absolutely love spending time with my family, whether it’s traveling with my mom to new places or going camping adventures with my nephews. These moments together are truly special and bring so much joy to my life.
I absolutely love getting to know each and every student—they never fail to make me smile with their unique stories and personalities. Watching their incredible progress year after year is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. By the end of the year, our class feels like a big, happy family, and it’s always bittersweet to see them move on to new adventures. I truly miss each one as they go on to bigger and better things, but I’m always excited to see where their journey takes them next.
